A drifting small buoy system with various sensors and a GPS receiver has been developed for the purpose of observing a tide of an island sea. We explain the result that observed a tide current using the buoy system and the numerical analysis with data of high and low tidal of the Yatsushiro Sea. The reduction of the power consumption makes a battery small for the miniaturization of a buoy. Even if it miniaturizes a battery, in order to lengthen use time, the electric device was made to sleep and consumption of a power supply was held down. When the position information on a buoy is used for adjustment of sleep time, the effect of electric power saving is reported. Moreover, the form difference was investigated about the influence of a wind using the small model and the experimental waterway. We explain the result that observed a tidal current using the buoy system and the numerical analysis with data of high and low tide.
