The purposes of this research is to arrange and classify "shuchi" (shame, shyness, embarrassment, etc.) in adolescence and study the relation between "shuchi" in adolescence and an adolescent crisis state with two sides, "standard crisis state" and "maladjustive state". "Standard crisis state" is the mental instability that everyone may experience in adolescence. "Maladjustive state" such as withdrawal and neurosis is caused by personal factor like a self weakness. According to the results of 187 college students, "shuchi" was classified into four factors, "inferior and failure", "sex and gender difference", "personal strain and embarrassment", and "self-reflection". The following four things became clear as a result of considering the relation between "shuchi" and adolescent crisis state. Being sensitive to "inferior and failure" and "personal strain and embarrassment" had affected two sides of adolescent crisis state. Being sensitive to "sex and gender difference" had only influenced the "standard crisis state". There was no relation between "self-reflection" and adolescent crisis state . "Shuchi" in adolescence was classified into four, and it became clear that the influence which each has on adolescent crisis state is not uniform.l．問題と目的 Ⅱ．研究1 Ⅲ．研究 2 lV．総合考察
