概要

Omononushigami-God, who had been the most powerful evil-god in the Japanese myths, was transformed into the guardian god of the Imperial Court by the Miwa-no-kimi Family. This family, a sueki (earthenware)-making and religious-service family, was since the sixth century loyal to the Court, willing to sacrifice their lives and status for Emperors and Empresses. The above is what I made clear in this paper through examining all the members of the Miwa-no-kimi Family found in Nihonshoki.
