This study was conducted to explore the meal awareness and the current situation among elderly people in a day-service center. The researcher obtained information by means of questionnaires. The ratio of respondents was 55.2%. This investigation reached the following conclusions: 1. Most of the respondents reported diseases that were life-style related such as hypertension, cerebral infarction, heart disease and diabetes and felt uneasy about their health and care problems. 2. Among those respondents who felt uneasy about their health and who had difficulty preparing meals some have made use of the delivery of the meal service that has enriched their dietary life. 3. The number of elderly people using meal delivery service confirmed that the meal awareness was about 50%. Most of elderly people who live alone, about 70%, have made use of the delivery of the meal service. 4. When the quantity of activity decreases with increasing age, elderly people tend to spend much time indoors. This research found that dairy meals for elderly people in their homes add to their pleasure and quality of their daily life.
