The purpose of this study was to find out the difficulties that the patients with Ischemic Heart Disease cope with in their medical regimen. We placed a special emphasis on the analyses of the differences between the patients with coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and those with percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). The subjects of this study were seven males. Five males of them underwent CABG and two males of them underwent PTCA. The research design used was inductive qualitative method. The differences noticed between the patients with CABG and those with PTCA were as follows; a) the way they position the regimen in their lives, b) the difference between the two regimens themselves, c) the way they relate themselves with others surrounding them, d) the way they perceive their prognoses. One point seen in both of them was that their attitude toward the regimen was not completely stable and tended to waver. It was indicated that the patients with CABG and those with PTCA respectively needed information supplying support by nursing professionals with the relevant understanding of the patients' attitudes toward the regimen.
