• Recently, research and development on non-contacting control technology has been performed in various fields. Acoustic radiation pressure (ARP) generated by ultrasonic sound is regarded as one of an effective non-contacting force in atmosphere. In non-contacting control technology, control mechanism to modulate the force according to control command is indispensable. Authors had presented a direct control mechanism of ARP by modulating the oscillating current that excites the ultrasonic vibrator. By using this method, the ARP could be directly controlled through modulation signal. In this paper, control experiments to examine the validity of presented control mechanism are carried out. An ultrasonic welder system is introduced as an actuator. To modulate oscillating current, a power factor knob is mechanically twisted by a servomotor. A simple pendulum is adopted as a control object. Two welders are located symmetrically with the direction of oscillation. The oscillation amplitude is measured and fed back to the welders. Control results showed certain level of vibration attenuation.
