This paper presents the effect of rear wheel alignment on rolling resistance and running performance of automobiles. The wheel alignment such as toe and camber angle has an effect on vehicle handling and stability. We have investigated experimentally the influence of wheel alignment of rear wheels on the rolling resistance. And experimental devices are also developed in order to investigate the influence of the rolling resistance on vehicle running. We have also developed a method to determine the center of gravity of automobile. The device provides us with an easy way to measure with satisfactory accuracy. In the present work, six types of rear wheel alignment were investigated. We also theoretically investigated the influence of the toe and camber angle on vehicle driving; especially the influence of both the camber angle and toe angle on the driving stability of a vehicle. We developed a simulation system to calculate the performance of driving stability. It was found that the parameters such as the running speed, the toe and camber angle have a considerable effect on the oscillation of a vehicle.
