The purpose of this work is to measure the values for both heat- and mass-tansfer in the region of turbulent flow in a wetted-wall tower, in which vaporization of water occurs, and to correlate these data with the flow rate of gas. Using a newly devised method, the values for an end effect in this tower were determined to be 20 ~ 30% of the total amounts of water evaporated, and hence they could not be neglected. The data corrected on the basis of this end effect were correlated very well by means of general equations of the Nussselt-type and the Chilton-Colburn's j-factor as follows : 2,000
