129.キイロショウジョウバエの卵母細胞のマイクロ波被曝と高温度人工気象器処理による変異原性試験

1) This is a part of study of investigating the effects of microwaves on organism. 2) The groups of virgin female of yw^iec of genotypes were exposed to an output of 500W (using a home-use microwave oven with frequency range of 2.45 GHz) for (1) 5 seconds, (2) 10 sec, and (3) 15 sec and the they were mated with untreated yf/B^s Yy+males immediately after exposure (Fig. 1). I counted the number of females and males in next generation to analyze nondisjunction flies of sex chromosomes by phenotypes. 3) In the No. (1) group, 26301 flies or 0.01% were induced aneuploidy while in the control group the induction was as low as 17782 or 0.02%. There were no induction at all in the groups (2) and (3). It may suggest that microwaves had no effect on Drosophila melanogaster oocytes. I concurrently studied the possible effects of heat on flies using the temperature-controlled ovens for (1) 37℃/40 min, (2) 41℃/25 min, and (3) 50℃/15 min. No aneuploidy was found in F_1 flies at high temperature oven treatment (Table 1 and 2). Through the above studres, interesting phenomena other than sex chromosome non-disjunction were found on F_1 flies after they were treated with microwaves or high temerature (Fig. 2). I will continue my study to determine whether the result is due to the transcription control by heat shock genes or the degradation of protein.
