Intrinsic viscosity [η] in water, light scattering in formamide and GPC in 0.05M KCl aqueous solution were measured for fractionated polyacrylamide, PAAm, samples with a wide range of molecular weights. The effects of temperature and the addition of KCl, CaCl_2 salts on [η] were studied, [η]-molecular weight, M_w, relationship in water at 25.0℃ was obtained as follows: [η]=2.67×10^<-4> M_w^0.66 The value of [η] of PAAm in water was unaffected by the increase in temperature and the addition of KCl and CaCl_2. These results suggest a non-ionic character of PAAm aqueous solutions and the absence of any interaction between polar group in PAAm and neutral salts. In addition, it seems impossible to occur any hydrogen bonding for PAAm aqueous solutions.
