To develop children's inductive thinking is one of the important aims of arithmetic education. We are able to find many situations suitable for the teaching of this thinking. But I am inclined to think that many teachers don't understand this teaching process and don't develop their children's inductive thinking. So I've investigated two matters to clarify those. They are as follows. 1) How do children think induktively to solve a problem? 2) Do teachers understand teaching steps to develop children's inductive thinking?
