It is well known that auditory brainstem responses (ABR) is well suited for the auditory clinical application and electrophysiological functions of nuclei in the brainstem. Especially, the peak latency of the ABR wave Vth is reliable index for clinical neurological examination. This paper reports the investigation of the relationship between three stimulus parameters of the click (stimulus intensity, duration and interval) and the peak latency of wave Vth in the click evoked ABR. And it is reported that the peak latencies of wave Vth of 30 normal adult subjects were evoked by click stimulation of which parameters were changed to obtain its relationship, and that an experimental formula of peak latency was derived as a function of three stimulus parameters applying linear regression analysis to evoked peak latencies. Next, it is shown that the experimental formula is a very practical index for estimation of the click evoked ABR normal peak latency. Moreover the first step of development of the quantitative estimation method of consciousness levels is considered using this experimental formula as a kind of standard for the comparison between some consciousness levels and the gaps of data from the values of the experimental formula. And the significance of the experimental formula as an ergonomic estimate factor of consciousness is therefore described.
