This research gives formal analysis of the development-feature of a healthy group and a group of the developmentally handicapped children in order to study an understanding of the development-feature of the children with developmental handicap, and the method of their assistance. Consequently, the star-wave-test showed that the developmentally handicapped children have the tendency to lay more stress on the internal things than the external things such as surroundings and relations with people, and that they emphasize the intellectual and mental side too much in their daily life. Moreover, in the Wartegg-zeichentest, (1) the rich expression of their inner sides, which they fail to express in their daily life, was seen. (2) The rate of an appearance of formal depiction about the theme evoked by all the plates was high. (3) The rate of an appearance of pictorial depiction for the plates which evoked emotion and susceptibility (2 and 7) was hign. Thus it was suggested that the emotions-approach which can nestle up to their feeling and emotion is required as a clue to the support for the developmentally handicapped children who have a maladjustive feeling in personal relations and are poor at expressing themselves.
