Lately in Japan, we have had many papers making studies on machinery ring. But in the marginal land in which the average yield per 10 ares is low and in which the farmers have few chances to engage in other jobs, we have few studies made. The aim of this paper is to approach the co-operative group for agricultural production, "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring in Miyazaki Prefecture. "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring is a type of co-operative group contracted on part works between full-time farm households and part-time ones, and of the many machinery ring groups it is the biggest one. Rate of paddy field in Miyakonojo cultivated land area is 47%, but "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring operated rice-production-works of 13,226 ha in 1975,84% of total contracts. In addition, main contract on part-works is made of services of seed and seedling, processing and stocks of grain elevator, protection against insect, operated and managed by "Miyakonojo" Agriculture Co-operation. So "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring has contributed little to make a size of farmer's land area bigger, leveling up part-time farm's productivity. But main purpose of machinery ring is to push full-time farmer's agriculture more intensive and to level up his productivity. Recently, we took a census and surveyed 37 farm households agriculture managements and cultivated land map in "Kawahigashi" and "Korimoto" village which, comparatively, has much contract between full-time, and part-time farm households. In these villages, almost 100% of part-time farmer's land area is contracted, and full-time farmer's cultivated land is concentrated around his own land. But the operating farm households entered in "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring are competing with the other operating farm households not entered in that for receiving contracts on part works. A lot of contracts, now, are received and operated by the operating farm households entered in "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring, though the ordinary level of charges occasionally are broken to discount by the operating farm households not entered in "Miyakonojo" Machinary Ring. Because the manager of "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring is allocating the paddy fields contracted gathering around the paddy fields of the operating farm households' property. So the productivity of the operating farm households entered in "Miyakonojo" Machinery Ring is now higher than that of ones not entered in. When, in future, the present remaining income of asking farm households shall be equal to the level of rent received as landowners by reason that the difference of the rice production per 10 ares between of the asking farm households' paddy fields without compost and of the operating farm households' paddy fields with compost shall be enlarged and the level of charges of contract shall increase with increasing general wage base, the paddy fields now contracted will be rented to the operating farm households from the asking farm households.
