The purposes of this article are (1) to introduce the outline of the outcomes model and substruction, and (2) to introduce the example of synthesis and critique of literature about psychoeducational therapy for schizophrenic patients. Recently, psychiatrists or psychologists are providing patients with education for medication using cognitive therapy, social skills training and psychoeducational therapy in Japan. Psychiatrists and psychologists are doing evaluation research of these structured educational programs. The findings of critique using substruction and outcomes model are the outcome indicator of psychoeducational therapy for schizophrenic patients such as Knowledge,Behavior,Psychopathological symptoms,Self-esteem,Re-hospitalization for concepts of “theoretical system”.
