In this study, rate of run-off, rainfall loss, period of concentration and the wave profile of runoff due to the same rainfall event were examined to quantitatively evaluate the flood mitigation function of the forest using the kinematic wave model which is consideration for saturation and unsaturated permeability coefficient, we have purpose to do perform quantitative evaluation. It turned out that the flood mitigation function of the Tashiro River basin which is artificial forest management is the rain total of approximately 70mm and the Sasazawa NO.3 basin which is plural layers forest management is it approximately 200mm. Therefore, it was found that the Sasazawa NO.3 basin has the flood mitigation function rather than that of the Tashiro River basin.
