大学における環境教育としての講義の実施効果の測定

This paper reports on measurement of the effectiveness as environmental education of the course "The Human Environment and Nature" offered in the first semesters of the academic years 2004 and 2005 at Nagoya Sangyo University. Questionnaires were administered to the students before and after each lecture in the course in order to assess changes in the students' views and consciousness about the environment as a result of environmental education. Analysis and consideration of the research results confirms a remarkable difference in changes in the students' consciousness before and after the lectures according to their nationality. Moreover, although based on comparison of only two years of questionnaire data, it appears that there were greater differences in the responses given by Chinese students between 2004 and 2005 than there were in the responses of Japanese students. Thus, the question of how to make students realize that environmental problems directly affect their lives becomes an important theme for coursework. It is hoped that these considerations, and the results of this research, can be used to make improvements in courses curriculum in coming years.
