This study aims to grasp the current state of the forest improvement activities, and to extract issues, and to propose the countermeasures of issues. The current state of the forest improvement activities was considered by use of the following reference papers and the hearing investigation from the forest association. The white paper of forestry and forest in Japan. The 30 years' planning of forest development in Gifu Prefecture. The reply note from the Japanese art and science conference. As the result of consideration, the following things were proposed. To improve the aging measure and to attempt the employment expansion, it should promote talent training-up of the forestry. To improve the production forestry income and to increase the timber demand, not only the economical value but also the cultural value of the wood should be recognized. The purpose of the improvement of the waste forest should not be the view preservation and the disaster prevention but be the production of high quality timber.
