The Golgi bodies in the neurones of Euhadra amaliae, Satsuma japonica and Semisulcospira libertina are almost evenly distributed throughout the cytoplasm and can clearly be observed under the phase microscope with the dark contrast or B minus contrast. They are either composite or simple. The composite ones consist of the dictyosome and the archoplasm, while the simple ones are homogeneous and represent probably younger stages of the former. The dictyosomes are either ring- or crescent-shaped, while the archoplasm is in the form of a sphere. With the dark contrast of the phase microscope, the archoplasm looks bright, while the dictyosomes and the simple Golgi bodies appear gray or black. The latter bodies are osmiophile or argentophile with the classical Golgi methods and are also vitally stained with neutral red, methylene blue or Nile blue. They also give a positive reaction with Baker's acid hematein test for phospholipids. No evidence is obtained to indicate that any secretion is produced in the interior or in the neighbourhood of the Golgi bodies.
