八丈島産ハモンドダカラについて

A single Purpuradusta hammondae (Iredale, 1939) [SL : 15.2mm, SW : 8.4mm, SH : 7.0mm] was collected alive at Okataura on Hachijojima Island in Izu Islands (33°06′N. lat., 139°45′E. long.). This specimen was found in tide-pool at a depth of 1m during low tide at night in autumn 1981. An individual specimen possesses characteristic five interrupted dorsal bands and scattered small marginal spots which are completely identical with those in P. hammondae though slightly discolored. The occurrence of this species possibly caused by a strong influence of warm current and accidentally introduced to this region considering an only single record.
