St. Andrew's University decided to cooperate with what was then Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation when St. Andrew's University was promoting computerization of the university. The Memorandum Concerning the Promotion of Computerization for St. Andrew's University was concluded on July 1, 1996. Based on the memorandum, a subcommittee called Working Group 4 was established within the Computerization Promotion Committee of St. Andrew's University, and work was accomplished cooperatively between the two organizations. Details of the work were reported in an internal report of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation and St. Andrew's University. This paper, a summary of the internal report, deals with the joint research concerning the support environment and practices for the use of multimedia in lectures.
