This article is the third part of the Part II of the STS series. "The discipline, specialty, and society relationship" is our main concern to explore the features of current science and technology research. In particular, we would see large scale organization, changing or newly emerging subjects of research, and complexity of fierce competition and collaboration among many scholars and company engineers which had become salient in our contemporary research community. The situation reuires new institutions and new organizing principles in each sector. In academia, the concept of entrepreneurial university is the most remarkable achievement of the new trend of the American higher education. In business community, functionally diversified R & D activities are promoted by many kind of institutions: from shop floor works to central laboratory. And, governments are to establish several kind of institions, each of which has its special role: from industrial test laboratories to big national projects. The most evident features of cmmunities of scientists and engineers are expansion and differentiation, which are necessary consequence of the progress of science and technology in this century. Science and technology communication is also in a transient phase. New paradigm of scientific and technological communication system is now growing in the media revolution which is now in progress. It would bring a radical change to the communication network of our learning community. The last topic is the social responsibility of scientists and engineers. This urgent issue is discussed on the basis of general ethics of our modern civil society.
