The mathematics department at Yatsushiro National College of Technology gives extra lessons to the first-year students every year with three placement tests and the achievement test during the year. The students are divided in 3 classes according to the score they get on each placement exam. In this paper, we investigate the correlation between the entrance exam score of each student and their average score of the four placement/achievement tests. We also analyze how their scores change throughout the year.
