Though it is known that at the reconstruction of shogunate official buildings their plans were based on former plans, there has been no detailed comparative research on their working drawings. This paper probes into and compares various extant working drawings and as-built drawings of a shogunate governmental building specifically around Otakamori built in Koka era and Man'en era. The aim of this study is to clarify the procedures of making the three kinds of the Man'en era plans. From a few clues of slight changes seen among the materials used, the author elucidated the following 4 points and concludes that the procedures of making Koka working drawings were; plans first, then sectional detail drawings, and after changes on sectional details, finally roof framing plans. 1. A difference can be observed mainly in the plan in Otakamori between Koka as-built drawings and Man'en as-built drawings which proves that some changes were made when the Man'en plan was drawn. 2. A difference can be observed in sectional details in Otakamori between the sectional detail drawings of Koka working drawings and Man'en working drawings. 3. Surmising the relation between 'plans' and 'sectional drawing plans', the Man'en 'sectional drawing plans' were made after the design of the 'plans' were decided. 4. The Man'en eaves height around Otakamori is basically the same as the Koka height except for some minor changes in parts such as the ceiling height.
