直撃雷遮蔽失敗による架空電力線の事故率の検討

Overhead electric power lines are faced with the threat of lightning. Particularly, direct lightning is extremely severe to the power lines. Therefore, it is important to know the outage ratio of the power lines by direct lightning. There is a theory of shielding failure for direct lightning, which is proposed by H. R. Armstrong and E. R. Whitehead. The theory can evaluate the outage ratio of the overhead power lines for direct lightning. In this research, outage ratios of transmission power lines and distribution power line were obtained with a numerical calculation based on the theory and the calculation results were examined by a lightning attraction area, so-called exposure area. As a result, it is possible that the exposure area can schematically show the aspects of the shielding failure outages of phase conductors for direct lightning.
