Relations of desire for thinness to body-image among non-clinical female college students were examined. Subjects were twelve female college students selected from eighty population. They didn't have any symptoms of eating disorder. The subjects were separated into two groups, i. e., "high desire for thinness and relatively thin body" (HH:n=7) and "low desire for thinness and relatively obese" (LL:n=5). Subjects' body-image were measured by body-part size estimation and silhouettes. The comparison of their body-part size estimation between the two groups suggested that (1) slim waist was symbol of the shared belief that thinness is ideal and the subjects in both groups were affected by such social or cultural norm. (2) as "HH" group desired slim hips although they were slender, they might not accept matured female body.
