The purpose of this research is to classify participants based on their responses to the questionnaire about their beliefs and attitudes in a CALL environment, describe the tendencies of each group, and ascertain whether the groups and the scores of the English proficiency test have a statistically significant difference or not. The questionnaire was made up of the items about beliefs and attitudes which seemed to be required when the students used the CD-ROM material, New Dynamic English. The participants for this research were 44 high school students who were enrolled in classes managed by the researcher in a CALL environment. They were asked to indicate to what extent they agreed or disagreed to the statement on the questionnaire on a five-point scale ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5 (strongly agree). The analysis was carried out to profile the students based on their responses to the questionnaire using a cluster analysis (the Ward method with the squared Euclidean distance technique). The result indicated that the students should be categorized into 3 groups. Afterward, the groups and the mean scores of each group in the term-end examination were analyzed. Though they did not have a statistically significant difference, the group who had a strong belief that they would come to speak very well, and had their 'can do' attitude obtained higher marks than any other group. The results also had some clues about how we should plan a syllabus in a CALL environment
