The Kanazawa University International Student Center conducted a survey of all the international students studying at Kanazawa University to know what they really expect from the Japanse Language Program offered here. There are several reasons for us to conduct such a survey. For example, on one hand, the transition from "a national university" to "a national university corporation" and the integration of Kodatsuno Campus to Kakuma Campus force us to downsize our program. On the other hand, the increasing number of international students forces us to make our program more flexible, because they have different needs. Our survey, therefore, is to obtain basic data to help us decide which direction we should go. The present paper shows the results of this survey. A detailed analysis has not yet been performed, nevertheless some hints for the nature of reform have been obtained. The following two are typical : 1) Some students are not attending Japanese classes not because they don't need them, but because they are too busy. 2) Postgraduate students are busier than other students and tend to need less frequent classes or evening classes.
