The mid-story isolation systems were analyzed by setting the parameters on the mass ratio upper structure to lower, the damping ratio, the yield strength and the position of isolated story. In this study, first the earthquake response of two mass systems substituted for fifteen storied-buildings was analyzed, and then the frequency transfer function of the mid-story isolation system was led as a solution of the Difference Equation and the earthquake response of fifteen mass systems was calculated to examine the earthquake control performance. From this study, it was recognized that the analysis of two mass systems is useful enough for grasping the earthquake behavior of multi-mass systems. Taking account of relevant structural parameters calculated in this study, the earthquake response performances of the mid-story isolation systems were improved such as that of the base isolation systems.
