1. In the Omi limestone distributed in the Omi-Oyashirazu area, Niigata Prefecture the following five fusulinid Zones are detected, ranging from the upper Carboniferous to the upper Permian : Parafusulina-Neoschwagerina-Sumatrina Zone P_2 Pseudoschwagerina-Pseudofusulina Zone P_1 Triticites Zone C_3 Fusulinella Zone C_2 Millerella-Coral-Brachiopod Zone C_1 2. Despite the absence of the Profusulinella and Fusulina Zones, no unconformity is observed between the three upper Carboniferous Zones. The Wolfcampian Pseudoschwagerina-Pseudofusulina zone rests conformably on the Kawvian Triticites Zone. 3. A northeastward thrust movement is observed along the Kurohime-Myozyo thrust line, and the limestone body thrusts over the clayslate and granodiorite. The overthrust movement was accompanied with the inclined folding limestone. It is believed that the schalsteins developed along the Kurohime-Myozyo thrust line intruded along the thrust plane when the thrust movement was active. The south boundary of the limestone mass is the fault contact with crystalline schist and serpentine. The folded limestone mass is covered by the Tertiary ryolite lava and its agglomerates.
