In the temperate monsoon zone, rainfall and runoff of torrents, of which coefficient of river regime are very big value, are in strikingly unbalance condition which changes not only seasonally and locally but hourly. Moreover rainfall and runoff of torrents are affected by river basin area, morphology, vegetation and so on. And rapidly discharge fluctuation, sharp hydrograph, violent riverbed fluctuation and large quantity of such wash load as sand-pebble-stone are slso remarkable. In those torrents, the way of water intake and the type of torrent intakes should be suitable for torrent morphology, purpose of intake-water and quantity of intake-water. In this paper, the author descrived how we set the useful water utilization system in order that natural water supply consists with human water demand, in case of water supplying from torrents. Investigating torrent morphology, discharge regime, water intake method and actual conditions of executive instances of torrent, and making a study of the hydraulic model test of torrent intakes, the author clarified the hydraulic characteristics of torrent intakes, and got some useful knowledge about the type of diversion works. In particular, BAR SCREEN COMPOUND TYPE TORRENT INTAKE is wide usable as well as BAR SCREEN BACK STREAM INTAKE TYPE TORRENT INTAKE, those are developed in related to this study. As the result, the water utilization system consisted of multiple torrent intakes and reservoier is to be said very useful to stable supply of water for agriculture, water workes and power, in the temperate monsoon zone.
