The purpose of this paper is to investigate the transient behavior of a simple queue and to propose the numerical method of the transient behavior. This paper gives the well-known analytical solution method of the transient behavior of a simple queue and proposes the difference equation method. The results are as follows; (1) The analytical method proposed by T.L. Saaty is sometimes not to applicable. The reason why the analytical solution can not be calculated is that the restricting condition of the modified Bessel function of the first kind exists and that calculated error is very large. (2) The proposed difference equation method is applicable, because the restricting condition does not exist and the calculation is easy and the calculated error is small, compared with that in Saaty's method.
