Since the large-scale rainfall simulator was completed in March 1974, many experimental studies on the natural hazard due to rainfall have been carried out by using near full-scale models built in the simulator. Especially, the experiments on infiltration, surface runoff and slope failure caused by rainfall have been carried out almost every year. This material includes all the data of experiments on surface runoff which were performed to make clear the effect of channel density on surface runoff from 1977 to 1978. The experimental model with the dimensions of 40 m in length, 15.1 m in width and 1/1000 in gradient was made by mortar. The experiments were executed by measuring time distributions of discharge from different models with different numbers of drainage channels (0, 2, 4 and 8) corresponding to different rainfall patterns. As a result, it was made clear that the peak discharge became higher and the concentration time of runoff became shorter corresponding to the increase of the number of drainage channels.
