Data of snow damages and their countermeasures of municipalities in the snowy area have been collected by Shinjo Branch since 1979 by means of yearly inquiry. In the present paper, as a continuation of the same title (I), data of a winter season of 1980 to 1981 are shown as lists and distributional maps for all municipalities, and as some statistical tables. The heavy snowfalls, called "56 gosetsu", marked the concerned winter period. Contents are as follows : Public costs for snow removal and snow control (Table 2). Occurence and actual state of snow damages (Table 3, Table 4, and Fig.6). Maximum snow depth (Fig.2). Ratio of snow removal costs to tatal public expenditures (Fig.3). Presence of disbursement for snow melting system and gutter system (Fig.4 and Fig.5). Statistical tables on the degrees of snow damages in relation to some characteristics of municipalities, such as maximum snow depth, population, and regional groups (Table 5 to Table 7).
