The mechanical properties of Al-Mg_2Si alloys artificially aged after natural aging are in ferior to those artificially aged without preliminary natural aging after quenching. The properties of the Al-1.5% Mg_2Si alloys artificially aged with preliminary natural aging and those without it were investigated in terms of resistivity and hardness. The heating of the alloys at high temperature for its reversion was effective for the recovery of the mechanical prapertics of the alloys already processed though natural and artificial aging (on the way to artificial aging was effective for the recovery of the mechanical properties after artificial aging of the alloys with natural aging.) The G-P zone formed during natural aging is only dissolved by heating at a high tmperature such as 370℃.
