Fe-10 Zr-(0, 5, 10) Cr amorphous steels and Fe-13 B-9 Si amorphous steels as commercial alloys were prepared by using single-roll quenching method. These specimens were annealed to recrystallize at 923 K for 1hr. Microstructural examination of quenched specimens was studied by X-ray diffraction and the crystallization temperature of these specimens was determined by differential thermal analysis (D.T.A.). Amorphous steels and recrystallized amorphous steels were irradiated with 2 MeV Au^<2+> ions up to 8.2 x 10^<16>ions/cm^2 at R. T., 373 K and 623 K by using Tandem Accelerator facility of I. M. R. (Institute for Materials Research) at Tohoku University. In order to clarify effects of heavy ion bombardments on the resistance of voids swelling and the crystallization of amorphous phase in the low activation ferritic amorphous steels, we have examined on microstructural evolution and mechanical properties by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and vickers microhardness test respectively. After irradiation, almost all the amorphous steels were crystallized to crystalline phase below the crystallization temperature. The crystalline phase was found to be b.c.c. and hexagonal structure by TEM, the diameter of nano crystalline grain was approximately 10 nm. Microvoids were observed in the only Fe-10 Zr-(0, 5, 10) Cr amorphous steels. It is found that the number density of microvoids and these diameter are slightly dependent on Cr composition. However the diameter of recrystallization grain increased owing to the Cr composition. Several precipitates were observed in every specimens except R. T. irradiation. The most precipitates of Fe- Zr- Cr specimens were found to be MC. The lamellar precipitates were observed in recrystallized amorphous of Fe-13B-9Si. The dependence of the vickers microhardness on the fluence and the load was obtained in Fe-10 Zr-10 Cr.amorphouslow activationheavy ionirradiation effectsmechanical properties
