The extraction of Am and lanthanides with tri-butylphosphate(TBP) was studied using water deficient nitrate media as a salt phase. The hydrate melt of Nd(NO_3)_3XH_2O (X≅6) is fairly stable up to around 100℃. The effect of the saturation of TBP was studied using 1/10 mixture of Nd(NO_3)_36H_2O and Ca(NO_3)_24H_2O melt below 60℃. It is possible to extract trivalent Am and lanthanides from the mixture by using TBP dodecane solution. The extraction is sensitive to the contents of water in the salt phase but not so sensitive to the content of nitric acid. The information is useful to design a flow sheet for the recovery of TRU elements from nitric acid solution.trivalent actinideslanthanidessolvent extractiontri-butylphsphateroutine recovery
