IN-HOUSE FACILITY OF ANOMALOUS X-RAY SCATTERING FOR STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION OF DISORDERED MATERIALS

The potential capability of anomalous x-ray scattering (AXS) for the structural analysis of multi-component disordered materials is presented with respect to the determination of the local chemical environment around a specific atom as a function of radial distance. The relative merits of the energy derivative method of the AXS coupled with a white x-ray source are discussed in comparison with the EXAFS with which the environmental structure can also be determined. The newly-constructed in-house facility of the AXS is also described including present status and future prospects.
