Pressure effects on the Curie temperature and electrical resistance of Fe-based amorphous alloys have been investigated. These alloys exhibit a remarkable pressure effect on the Curie temperature concerning with the Invar effects. The magnitude of pressure derivative of the Curie temperature, dT_c/dP, for Fe_<100-x>Zr_x and (Fe_<1-x>M_x)_<90>Zr_<10> (M : Ni, Co, Cr or Mn) amorphous alloys decreases with increasing X. In most of cases, a shift of the Curie temperature as a function of pressure is not linear. The changes in dT_c/dP for Fe_<100-x>Zr_x (x≦20) and (Fe_<1-x>M_x)_<90>Zr_<10> amorphous alloys with low X concentrations follow the expression proposed for inhomogeneous ferromagnetic alloys, while for Fe_<100-x>Zr_x (x>20) alloys they obey the empirical expression given by Schneider et al. The amorphous alloys of not only Fe-metal(s) systems but also Fe-metalloid(s) systems such as Fe-Cr-B alloys exhibit a remarkable pressure effect on the Curie temperature. The electrical resistance vs. temperature curves of Fe_<100-x>Zr_x and (Fe_<1-x>M_x)_<90>Zr_<10> amorphous alloys with low X concentrations exhibit a minimum around the Curie temperature and this minimum point shifts toward a lower temperature by applying pressure. The decrement of electrical resistance under pressure for Fe_<90>Zr_<10> amorphous alloy becomes remarkable below the Curie temperature, which suggests that its compressibility is very large. From these results, it is concluded that the pressure effects on the Curie temperature and electrical resistance appear significantly in Fe-based amorphous alloys.
