EFFECTS OF Cr-SUBSTITUTION ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES IN Fe-BASED AMORPHOUS ALLOYS

Temperature dependence of magnetization and paramagnetic susceptibility was measured for amorphous systems (Fe_<1-y>Cr_y)_<80>P_<13>C_7 and (Fe_<1-y>Cr_y)_<78>Si_6B_<16> with y<0.13. The Curie temperature T_C is well expressed as T_C (y)/T_C(0)=1-3y for both of the systems. This relation is comparable with that found previously for other Fe-Cr amorphous systems. The average magnetic moment per metal atom μ at 0 K is described by the relation μ(y)=(1.97-5.1y)μ_B and μ(y)=(2.08-5.8y)μ_B, for (Fe_<1-y>Cr_y)_<80>P<13>C_7 and (Fe_<1-y>Cr_y)<78>Si_6B_<16> systems, respectively. The paramagnetic Curie temperatures of Fe_<72>Cr_8P_<13>C_7 and Fe_<68>Cr_<10>Si_6B_<16> are 40 to 50 K higher than the Curie temperatures.
