Experimental Studies on Dynamical Multiple Reflections Observed in Thin Films of Metals and Alloys by Electron Diffraction

Origin of the appearance of the forbidden reflections observed in electron diffraction patterns is discussed and the following three experimental examples showing the forbidden reflections are presented : (1) Satellite spots flanking the fundamental spots observed from a single crystal film with CuAu II type superlattice, (2) forbidden reflections from hexagonal cobalt and (3) 00.l (l=±1) spots from the precipitates of an Al-20% Ag alloy.
