A small amount of sulfate (1〜5 mg/100 ml as SO_4) could be determined by using the high frequency titration method. The titration was made with M/62 barium chloride solution in 50 per cent methanol medium at 20°±2℃, keeping pH of the solution at 6.0±0.1. The end point in this method was given as a sharp peak in the diagram, expressing the volume of barium chloride solution used against microamperes. Satisfactory results were obtained when this method was applied to the rapid determination of sulfur in iron and steels, the analytical error being about 2 per cent.
