In order to obtain a systematical data of the change in electrical properties during the earlier stage of sintering of metal powder, the electrical resistivity and the density were measured on the compacts of such metal powders as copper and nickel, which were sintered isothermally in vacuo or in hydrogen. There was found in any sintering process no comprehensive relation3hip between the both two physical properties. Especially in case of hydrogen sintering, a noticeable effect of hydrogen gas was recognized on the electrical resistivity. And moreover it was suggested, that the electrical properties are an inappropriate indicator for quantitative determination of sintering degree, at least, in the stage of void elimination.
