In this paper, we shall deal with the width of the forbidden energy zone of pure tellurium at the absolute zero of temperature and its variation which resulted both from the thermal dilatation and from the thermal vibration that are induced in the crystal lattice, when the temperature is increased. The amounts under investigation have been calculated in terms of the data of the effective masses, mobilities, and concentrations of the conduction electrons and positive holes in the intrinsic temperature range, those which have been derived in the previous paper by analysing the results of measurements on the resistivity, the Hall effect and the magneto-resistance of tellurium. The forbidden zone width, as the final result, is given approximately by 〓E=0.34+1.7×10^<-4>T, in electron volts, as a function of the absolute temperature T.
