This essay examines about the policy of anniversaries and calendar time in the Chinese Communist Party Base. During the Anti-Japanese War Period, until about 1939, the governments of CCP Base relatively respected the formation of the anniversaries of Nationalist Government, thus they asserted their legitimacy based on the authority of Nationalist Government. In Taihang and Taiyue Base, the formation on the anniversaries and rituals were more faithful to those of Nationalist Government. After the deterioration of the Nationalist-Communist relationship in the late of 1939, many of anniversary activities of Nationalist origin except the National Day were suspended, thus CCP tried to create the original authority by their original formation of anniversaries. In the front base, CCP precedently adapted several strategies which infiltrated the solar calendar time and anniversaries into tbe rural society : the arrangement of anniversaries which considered the production rhythm of agriculture : the adoption of folk customs of lunar calendar into the anniversaries : the use of dates which the anniversary and folk festival fell on together. The time of lunar calendar was used as the anniversary of peasants or villages, giving the communal nature to folk festivals. After 1945 CCP confidently started to use the time of lunar calendar and aggressively stepped into the area of the superstition. But the time of lunar calendar did not receive system acknowledgment as the whole. The Liberation Anniversary of the villages or districts which established on traditional festivals and the attempt to organize rural production by the take advantage of festivals did not last for long time, so the reinforcement of the internal cohesion of rural society through these rituals cannot be confirmed. CCP intended to converse folk customs and mentality, but it was difficult to control, people brought the folk customs, which CCP despised, into the solar calendar time.
