From a single sample of beach sand collected at Kujukuri-hama in Honshu 64 species of Foraminifera were determined. This rather rich assemblage comes from an area in the proximity of which a southern warm water and a northern cold water current meet. Moreover, the beach at Kujukuri-hama lies at the edge of a flat wide plain open to ocean, wind and waves without sheltered coves and the faunule is, therefore, interesting from an ecological and zoogeographical point of view. The identified species and varieties are critically evaluated.
