Prologue In this essey, it meant to consider the activities and ideas of Kanji Kato, he was the founder of the folk high school movement in modern Japan. 1. Kato's encounter with the folk high school movement. (1) His life course from his birth until he was installed in Yamnagatakenritsu-jichikoshusho Master. (2) These details which he took on Jichikoshusho Master. 2. Kato's challenges for ten years in Yamagatakenritsu-jichikoshusho. (1) His ideal 'Riso-shinko' and the curriculum in Jichikoshusho.
