In this short report are listed 6 species of the family Lucanidae (Insecta, Coleoptera) from the Islands of Tsushima, Japan, preserved in the National Science Museum, Tokyo. Besides these 6 species, the present author has also examined a female specimen of the genus Lucanus SCOPOLI collected at Uchiyama of the south island preserved in the Entomological Laboratory, Kyushu University, Fukuoka. It is, however, difficult to determine the accurate name of this specimen, since Japanese Lucanus maculifemoratus MOTSCHULSKY and Korean L. dybowskyi PARRY cannot be distinguished from each other in female specimens. The Korean lucanid, Serrognathus fasolt KRIESCHE, 1920,is doubtlessly a synonym of S. platymelus castanicolor MOTSCHULSKY, 1861,from Tsushima, which was erroneously treated by R. KRIESCHE in 1920 as a synonym of Japanese S. p. pilifer S. VAN VOLLENHOVEN, 1861. The author has also proved that the species treated by S. NOMURA as a species independent from S. platymelus or S. titanus and regarded by him as identical with S. fasolt KRIESCHE is nothing but S. consentaneus ALBERS, 1886,originally described from Pekin and recorded by R. KRIESCHE from Chingtao and Kiukiang. This Korean lucanid, Serrognathus consentaneus ALBERS, which is evidently a good species as was considered by S. NOMURA, is new to the Japanese fauna. The dispersal of lucanid beetles between Japan and Korea through the Islands of Tsushima is discussed. The existence of certain Korean elements in Tsushima, the lack of the Japanese elements such as Ceruchus lignarius LEWIS, Aesalus asiaticus LEWIS, Platycerus delicatulus LEWIS, P. acuticollis Y. KUROSAWA and Prismognathus angularis WATERHOUSE, all of which are the dwellers in Fagus woods, and the lack of Nipponodorcus rubrofemoratus S. VAN VOLLENHOVEN and N. montivagus LEWIS which are found commonly both in Japan and in Korea must be noticed. Some insects boring in dead or decayed wood found in southern and southeastern coasts of the southern island of Tsushima, e. g. Aegus laevicollis subnitidus WATERHOUSE (Lucanidae), Chrysodema lewisii E. SAUNDERS (Buprestidae), etc., are also noticeable as the recent immigrants by the Tsushima Current from the western coast of Kyushu, Japan,
