This paper proposes a seal imprint verification method with rotation invariance. First, seal imprint is represented as two-dimensional (2D) continuous function in Cartesian coordinate and then the 2D continuous function is transformed to polar coordinate after calculation of the center of the normalized seal imprint. Secondly, the coefficients of the 2D Fourier series expansion of the above 2D continuous function in the Polar coordinate are calculated. Thirdly, the singular vector corresponding to the largest singular value of the matrix defined by the above Fourier coefficients is computed. The resulting singular vector is used as feature of seal imprint for the verification. With the feature seal imprint verification can be performed. Finally the verification experiments are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
