Kotaro Takamura, who had written many 'war' poems during World War II, moved into a mountain village in Iwate Prefecture after the end of the war, and lived there all by himself for seven years. 'Tenkei' is the only collection of his poems written in that period. In this article, by examining the poems in this work, the author discusses that the conception of 'nature' which forms the quintessence of Kotaro's view of the world was greatly influenced by his strong inclination towards the inorganic world. No essential change can be noticed between the works during and after the war, and the change, if any, must be regarded as a process of deepening of this inclination.
